Pipe Joint Sealing

LINCOLN COMPANY PERFORMS PIPE JOINT SEALING AGAINST WATER INFILTRATION QUICKLY AND WITHOUT DISRUPTION OR DIVERSION OF PIPE FLOWS. THE PROCESS SEALS OPEN PIPE LINE JOINTS, FILLS VOIDS AND DENSIFIES SURROUNDING SOILS.

  • PIPE JOINT SEALING
  • STABILIZE SOIL BENEATH PIPE
  • SEAL PIPE JOINTS
  • SEAL PIPE LINES
  • STABILIZE SETTLED PIPELINES

Open pipe joints are the source of infiltration and once located, are quickly sealed by targeted grouting. Steel injection pipes are either drilled or driven in close proximity to the open pipe joint from above. A specifically designed grout is then pumped through the grout into the soil and bedding material encapsulating the pipe joint. The process is ideal for smaller diameter pipes that typically require disruption or diversion of flows with other pipe joint sealing methods. Even in large diameter pipelines experiencing higher flows, grouting can rapidly shut off the flow by adding accelerants and/or modifying the grout mix. This process also fills voids and densifies surrounding soils.

Other grouting methods such as Slurry Grouting and Compaction Grouting are also frequently used to stabilize settling pipelines and raise pipelines if necessary without excavation.

Advantages
  • No excavation is needed to seal pipe joints
  • Fills voids and stabilizes soil beneath pipes
  • Does not require disruption or diversion of service
  • Works well in high flow situations
  • The process is rapid
  • Less expensive than traditional excavation methods
  • Environmentally benign grouts are used
  • Seals pipes long term
